What if you were stirred;
By a piece of art,
Only part of it uncovered

What if the urge;
Moved your heart,
Weeping to be discovered

There was this amazing painting, if words could justify its beauty, I would get over the painting and start loving the words. Some things don’t have a substitute, some things aren’t meant to be said and some feelings are beyond vocabulary.

The painting was put on display at a famous art gallery. It was said, that the artist had intentionally covered most of it with a veil. Everyone interested in “Art” came and saw this master piece. It was the very reason, why all and sundry came to visit this art gallery. If it weren’t for this painting, no one had come.

Everyone seemed to be talking about it before entering the gallery, but the moment they stepped in, their eyes wandered across the arcade and they indulged in admiring the beauty of other pieces.
No one ever denied the beauty of other works, at times it was stressed that one should look around and learn from them too but the reason of coming to the art gallery was that one painting! It no doubt, annoyed the artist. He put all the other paintings on display, not because they could match “the one“in beauty and grandeur but the focal theme was to make people and aspiring artists, understand the difference. How could they forget the reason they came to the gallery for?!

It was more of a test than display, more of a stage than reality, this platform of art. But why would the artist test? Maybe because he wanted to find who had what it takes be an artist!

Amongst those, who were mainly attracted by the one painting and who lived up to the reason they came to the gallery for, there were kinds.

For some of these aspirants, the uncovered portion, being so beautiful was enough. The thirst of their art was quenched by this little portion of the master piece. Their passions succumbed to it and the artist in them was sated by having a look at this veiled painting.

For some, this veiled painting meant endless torment. If what they could see and what they could grasp was so amazing, imagine the complete painting. The awe and curiosity killed them. They were never satisfied because their passions knew no bounds. And just because of this pure love, the artist showed glimpses of rest of the painting to some of the chosen few. They could not stop even then, as when the painting was so damn beautiful, imagine what height of beauty the artist would be at!
